Marine rescuers are asking Illawarra and South Coast residents to keep watch for an entangled humpback whale.
The animal was last sighted around Gerroa on Sunday travelling south with another whale, dragging fishing line and a buoy.
ORRCA says drone operators may have the best chance of spotting it, and is urging anyone who spots it to keep their distance, note its location, and call the rescue hotline immediately on (02) 9415 3333.
