Marine Rescue stalwart celebrates major milestone

Marine Rescue Shellharbour volunteer Peter May is celebrating 32 years of dedicated service to the Illawarra boating community.

Joining the organisation in 1994, Peter has taken part in countless search and rescue missions and continues to serve as an active vessel Master, Trainer and Assessor.

Marine Rescue NSW Inspector Stuart Massey praised Peter’s passion for boating safety and commitment to helping others, describing his contribution to the local community as remarkable.

At 70 years old, Peter remains actively involved in frontline operations and volunteer training, continuing a legacy of service spanning more than three decades.
