The NBL has launched legal action against the Illawarra Hawks in the international Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The move follows concerns about conduct and potential conflicts of interest, after US-based owner Jared Novelly wrote to rival clubs last year proposing a takeover of the league and the removal of the NBL chairman.
It comes as a counter to Novelly’s own action against the league, including proceedings in the Supreme Court and complaints lodged with Basketball Australia.
