Police have laid a string of charges following a one-day crackdown on shoplifting in the Wollongong CBD.
An eight-hour targeted operation saw officers arrest 17 people and issue two youth cautions over offences including retail theft, intimidation and drug possession.
In one incident, a 43-year-old man was arrested after allegedly being found with stolen groceries before becoming aggressive towards police and retail staff.

He’s been refused bail and is due to face court today.
