Kiama Council is set to deliver what’s been labelled ‘Betterment Program’ projects on three roads in the coming months.
Council was successful in securing $4.9 million in grant funding and is moving ahead with conducting works at Jamberoo Mountain Road, Wallaby Hill Road and Foxground Road.
The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development’s NSW Betterment Program – Infrastructure Betterment Fund (IBF) has provided $4.5m in funding with a further $400,000 from the Office of Local Government via a NSW Severe Weather and Flood Grant.
Kiama Mayor Cameron McDonald said the safety upgrades were crucial for these three roads.
“These roads need the ongoing upgrades to improve the level of safety to reduce the level of risk to drivers on these roads,” he said.
“Jamberoo Mountain Road is a vital link road with the Southern Highlands.”
