A 49 year old man has been charged following a major police investigation into a string of alleged aggravated break and enters across the Illawarra, including one linked to the death of an elderly woman.

Detectives from Wollongong Police District launched Strike Force Julimar following the break in of a Towradgi home in September 2025, in which officers discovered the body of the 84 year old resident. Inquiries into the woman’s cause of death are ongoing.

DNA collected from the Towradgi scene has now allegedly been linked to four other break ins across Towradgi, Bulli and Wollongong, dating back to 2022.

The man has been charged with nine offences, and was refused bail to appear in court today.

Police say investigations are continuing.
