Rescue after Emergency Response Beacon at Coniston activated

Surf Life Saving Illawarra crews have been called in to action on Monday evening, after the activation of the Emergency Response Beacon at Coniston.

Just before 7.10pm, a member of the public hit the button on the emergency warning device, providing valuable information that two-females were struggling in a rip current.

Bystanders and crews from the Wollongong City and North Wollongong clubs were involved in the rescue, with NSW Paramedics taking both to hospital.
