At just 36 years old, the Grammy-nominated artist announced she is retiring music to have a family.
Yesterday, Nicki Minaj took to Twitter to announce her shocking decision to retire from music in order to put her focus on starting a family:
“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, ❌ in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. ✅ Love you for LIFE 😘♥️🦄”
The Grammy-nominated rapper and her partner, Kenneth Petty, have hinted that a wedding is in the foreseeable future.
Nicki Minaj not only has a flourishing music career, but has appeared in several Hollywood films and hosts her own radio show. It is not yet clear to what capacity she is stepping back from the limelight.
Nicki has become one of the most successful artists of the decade, accumulating the most Billboard Hot 100 entries among women of all genres, earring herself 10 Grammy Award nomination, 20 million singles sold as a lead artist, and 60 million singles as a featured artist.
