Luke Perry, star of 90210 & Riverdale, dead at 52


Actor Luke Perry, best known for his portrayals of bad boy Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210 and Fred Andrews on Riverdale, has passed away at the age of 52, less than a week after suffering a "massive stroke" at his home in California.


Paramedics were called to his home following reports that Perry had suffered a stroke. He was conscious and talking when they arrived, but his condition quickly deteriorated. 

Doctors put Perry into an induced coma to give his brain every chance to recover, but the damage was too great.

Perry passed away on Monday surrounded by "close family and friends"--including his two children, Jack and Sophie--at the time of his death.A rep for Perry released the following statement: "The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning".

I'm sure the outpouring of grief will continue as the shock death of Luke Perry sinks in.
