“The Last of Us” is getting the live action treatment as Sony PlayStation and Naughty Dog’s announced today that their highly acclaimed video game is set to become a TV Show.. and not just any old TV show.. But a HBO TV series meaning quality straight away.
The news has also made fans happy that “Chernobyl” creator Craig Mazin is the showrunner and executive producer.
In the immersive 2013 game you followed the story of Ellie and Joel, two very different characters that discover a beautiful “father/daughter” relationship as they navigate a zombie like infested world.
It was hands down the ‘Game of the Year’ as well as selling more than 17 million copies and a sequel which is due for release this year.
The rumour for the last few years is that Hollywood was working on a way to turn it into a film franchise. But the story is far too in depth to adapt and will be much better served as a TV series where you can really see the growth of characters over multiple seasons.
