The Chinese company Landbridge that bought the Port of Darwin for more than $500 million has been granted approval to build a $200 million luxury hotel nearby.
The Darwin Luxury Hotel development will be operated by Westin Hotels and Resorts after being built by Landbridge, NT Chief Minister Michael Gunner announced on Wednesday.
The 2015 port deal sparked concerns about security and the US complained that it was not consulted given its military presence in the Top End capital.
