Retired Melbourne Storm great Billy Slater says the leadership qualities he learnt in 16 seasons in the NRL are transferable to AFL.
Slater will work part-time with AFL club St Kilda in a leadership development role but will retain a specialist coaching position with the Storm.
The 35-year-old says he will look to impart his knowledge to the under-performing Saints about standards, professionalism, match preparation and getting the best out of players.
