BREAKING: Brisbane, Queensland has officially been named the host city for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Nearly 100 International Olympic Committee members cast their votes at the 138th Olympic Committee Session in Tokyo, and they have chosen Queensland to host the world’s greatest sporting event.
QLD Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced on social media that Queenslanders can be proud of this historic moment – Queensland is the place to be.
These Olympics will be transformational for Queensland, providing $8.1 billion in economic and social benefits and 91,600 full-time equivalent jobs.
It means a decade of new opportunities that will drive our COVID-19 Economic Recovery Plan forward.
I’m especially thinking of all the Queensland kids and aspiring young and professional athletes who will be very excited tonight about what the future holds for Queensland.
