Shellharbour Council sportsgrounds update

Shellharbour City Council Sportsfields, unless listed below, will remain closed from today until Friday 24 June 2022 to all sport and training.

All Category 1 fields are closed, with the exception of:

  • King Memorial Oval, Barrack Heights
  • McDonald Park, Albion Park

All Category 2 fields are closed, with the exception of:

  • Barrack Heights Field 1, Barrack Heights
  • Ben Fretus Field, Shellharbour
  • Centenary Training Fields, Croome Sporting Complex
  • Centenary Oval, Croome Sporting Complex
  • Dawes Park, Shellharbour
  • Des King Oval, Albion Park Showground
  • Flinders Fields, Flinders
  • Geoff Shaw Oval, Oak Flats
  • Morley Park fields 1,2 and 4 only
  • Oakleigh Park, Warilla
  • Pioneer Park, Shellharbour
  • Terry Reserve outside fields, Albion Park

All Category 3 fields are closed, with the exception of:

  • Cec Glenholmes, Lake Illawarra
  • Con O'Keefe Oval, Albion Park
  • Croome Cricket Oval, Croome Sporting Complex
  • Diane Gorman Oval, Albion Park
  • Freeman Park, Mount Warrigal
  • Howard Fowles Oval 1, Lake Illawarra
  • John O’Dwyer, Croome Sporting Complex
  • Keith Bond Oval, Oak Flats
  • Keith Hockey Oval, Shellharbour
  • Myimbarr Community Park All Fields, Flinders
  • Ron Costello Oval, Shellharbour
  • Scout Willoughby Oval, Shellharbour
  • Terry Reserve Field 1, Albion Park

Fields are still wet and club officials will need to complete an inspection and risk assessment of the fields for suitability prior to training and games.

Shellharbour Council advises that with rainy conditions expected to continue, following will apply until further notice:

  • Following weekend competition, Council will assess fields and make an announcement on Monday afternoon (or Tuesday in there is a public holiday) as to which fields will open for weekday training and competition.  
  • In preparation for weekend competition, Council will assess fields and make an announcement on Friday morning as to which fields will open for weekend competition.
