A crime scene has been set up at a property on Lake Entrance Road in Oak Flats after officers from Lake Illawarra police district located the body of a woman inside.

Police said officers responded to a concern for welfare call around 12pm yesterday and found the body of a woman believed to be in her 20s.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is continuing.
