Albion Park Show returns after long absence

The Albion Park Show will be held tomorrow for the first time since 2019 after the bushfires and pandemic forced the last two to be cancelled.

A fireworks display with light up the sky at 9.30pm while show president Michael Arthur is hoping to go ahead with demolition derby despite some forecast showers.

"I have to have a talk with the chief steward of that section.

"If we don't get too much more rain it should be good," he said.

"The grass will be nice and slippery and it will make it a little bit more entertaining," Arthur said.

Organisers are hoping people respect the COVID rules at the show with face masks mandatory for all indoor activities.

"We're going to be putting over the announcers speaker as regularly as we can to let everyone know that we would prefer for them to be wearing masks if they can.

If they can't, social distance.

"I'm just hoping everyone's going to be a little bit smarter.

"We all to come out nice and safe after the weekend," he said.

Arthur said a QR check in system will also be in place.

"We will have QR scans at both gates for people to be QR coded in before they come into the showground," he said.
