Six new COVID-19 cases for Wollongong

The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District is again reminding the community to remain COVID vigilant and to continue to come forward for testing and vaccination.

Six new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, all six are from the Wollongong Local Government Area, and four are linked to known cases.

The cases reside in the postcodes of 2500 (one), 2515 (two) and 2530 (three).

There have been 2,525 cases of COVID-19 in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District since June, there are currently four people being treated in hospital as a result of COVID-19.

NSW recorded 261 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

Four cases have been excluded following further investigation, bringing the total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 80,749.

There are currently 185 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 27 people in intensive care, 10 of whom require ventilation.

There were 73,027 COVID-19 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 74,926.

Across NSW, 94.5 per cent of people aged 16 and over have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 92.2 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Of the people aged 12 to 15, 81.1 per cent have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 76.0 per cent are fully vaccinated.

The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 12,827,204.
