Four new Wollongong COVID-19 cases, death at Wollongong Hospital


The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District has recorded four new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, and a woman has died in Wollongong Hospital.

All four of the new cases are from the Wollongong Local Government Area, and all but one are linked to known cases.

The cases reside in the postcodes of 2500 (one), 2525 (one) and 2530 (two).

There have been 2,517 cases of COVID-19 in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District since June, for the week ending, Sunday 21 November, there were 15,045 tests carried out across the District.

There are currently seven people being treated in hospital as a result of COVID-19, a woman in her 60's from the Wollongong area has died at Wollongong Hospital.

She had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and had underlying health conditions.


NSW recorded 248 new cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

There are currently 195 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 35 people in intensive care, 10 of whom require ventilation.

There were 80,317 COVID-19 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 52,302.

Across NSW, 94.4 per cent of people aged 16 and over have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 92 per cent are fully vaccinated.

Of the people aged 12 to 15, 81 per cent have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 75.7 per cent are fully vaccinated.

The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 12,799,251.
