Illawarra Shoalhaven COVID-19 cases slight rise

The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District has recorded two COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

One is from the 2518 postcode in Wollongong Local Government Area, and is linked to a known case.

One is from the 2541 postcode in the Shoalhaven Local Government Area, and is linked to a known case.

There have been 2,469 local cases of COVID-19 in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District since the start of the current outbreak in June.

The local testing rate continues to remain steady with 21,346 COVID-19 tests undertaken throughout the District in the past week.

As of 8pm Monday 8 November, there were 12 patients being treated in hospital as a result of COVID-19.

NSW recorded 222 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.

One new case was acquired overseas, one new case was acquired interstate and five cases have been excluded following further investigation, bringing the total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 77,018.

NSW Health is today reporting the deaths of four people with COVID-19 - two women and two men - one person was in their 50's, two people were in their 80's, and one person was in their 90's.

To 11:59pm on Sunday 7 November 2021 across NSW, 93.9 per cent of people aged 16 and over had received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 89.9 per cent were fully vaccinated.

In the 12-15 year old age group, 80.1 per cent have had their first dose, and 69.6 per cent are fully vaccinated.

The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 12,552,859.
