Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District has confirmed 23 local residents have tested positive to COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
17 are from the Wollongong Local Government Area (LGA) - eight are linked to known cases: Postcodes - 2500 (three cases), 2502 (one), 2506 (three), 2518 (five), 2526 (three), 2530 (two)
Three are from the Shellharbour LGA – there are no links to known cases: Postcodes – 2527 (one), 2528 (one), 2529 (one)
Three are from the Shoalhaven LGA – two are linked to a known case: Postcodes – 2540 (one), 2541 (two)
There are no new cases from the Kiama LGA.
There have now been 2,162 local cases of COVID-19 in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District since the start of the current outbreak in June, and as of 8pm Tuesday, 12 October there were 31 COVID-19 patients being treated in hospital.
NSW recorded 444 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
Two new cases were acquired overseas, and five previously reported cases have been excluded following further investigation. The total number of cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic is 69,804.
NSW Health is today reporting the deaths of four people – three men and one woman.
There are currently 716 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 150 people in intensive care, 76 of whom require ventilation.
There were 105,508 COVID-19 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 88,988.
NSW Health administered 20,677 COVID-19 vaccines in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
Across NSW, 90.8 per cent of people aged 16 and over have received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, and 75.2 per cent are fully vaccinated to 11.59pm on Monday 11 October 2021.
