Over 84% of NSW residents aged 16+ are now single dose vaccinated, with 56.6% now fully vaccinated. A third of all 12-15 year olds have now received a first jab. At the current vaccination rates, NSW is now on track to hit 70% double dose on October 7, and 80% around October 17.  The total number of vaccines administered in NSW is now 9,356,439.

NSW recorded 1,043 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, from 131,000 tests.

Of these, 103 are attributed to the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, our worst day so far and a jump of almost 60% since yesterday. There have now been over 1000 cases in the Illawarra Shoalhaven since the outbreak began in June.
