NSW recorded 1,262 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night from over 105,000 tests.
Whilst this is a drop in cases for the state, the Illawarra is seeing higher numbers, with 53 from the Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD.
There are currently 1,206 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 220 people in intensive care, 92 of whom require ventilation. Sadly, there has been 7 more deaths, including a man in his 20s who was unvaccinated.
On the vaccine front, we have hit 78.1% of single doses, with Dr Chant outlining we should hit 80% by Tuesday, and is hoping we will get closer to 90% within the fortnight. We are at 45% fully vaccinated, with over 8.1 million vaccines administered in total.
From tomorrow, people across NSW who have received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine will be allowed more freedoms.
For those who live outside the LGAs of concern, up to 5 fully vaccinated adults can engage in outdoor recreation in a person's LGA or within 5km of home. Children under 12 will not be counted in this total.
