75% first dose achieved as 1480 new cases recorded

NSW continues to accelerate its vaccine program, with over 75% of people now having received a first dose of the vaccine, with over 42% now fully vaccinated, with just shy of 7.7 million vaccines administered so far, with over 111,000 in the reporting period.

In the 24 hours to 8pm last night, NSW Health conducted 132,000 tests, which uncovered 1327 new cases, 34 of which were in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District, with 24 in Wollongong, 7 in Shellharbour, 2 in the Shoalhaven and 1 in Kiama which is currently under investigation.

There are currently 1,136 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital, with 194 people in intensive care, 78 of whom require ventilation, with another nine people sadly succumbing to the virus, including a man in his 20s, with seven of these were unvaccinated.
