Macquarie Pass set to close for work

Transport for NSW, says the Illawarra Highway between Tourist and Yellow Rock roads, will be closed from Sunday night for maintenance work.

Macquarie Pass will be closed in both directions, for repairs and resurfacing between 8pm and 4am, from Sunday September 12 to Thursday September 16. Work will continue for a further five nights from Sunday 10 October to Thursday 14 October, weather permitting.

During work light vehicles will be detoured via Jamberoo Mountain Road and drivers should allow an additional 10 minutes travel time.

Vehicles over 7.5 meters or 12 tonnes will need to detour via the Hume Motorway, Picton Road and the M1 Princes Motorway, and should allow an additional 30 minutes for their journey. Residential property access with be maintained throughout the work.
