Transport for NSW says the Illawarra Highway between Tourist and Yellow Rock roads will be closed for three days next week for maintenance work.
The road will be closed in both directions to repair drainage and signs, clear vegetation, and for litter collection. Work will be carried out between 9am and 3pm from Tuesday 31 August to Thursday 2 September, weather permitting.
Jamberoo Mountain Road is open and will be used as a detour for vehicles, adding an additional 10 minutes to travel times. Vehicles over 7.5 meters or 12 tonnes will need to detour via Hume Motorway, Picton Road and M1 Princes Motorway, adding up to an additional 30 minutes to travel times. Residential property access will be maintained throughout the work.
Also, road users are advised of the closure of Lady Wakehurst Drive between McKell Avenue and Otford Lookout next week for maintenance work to be carried out.
The road will be closed in both directions between 8am and 3pm from Tuesday 31 August to Thursday 2 September, weather permitting.
Detours will be in place via McKell Avenue, the M1 Princes Motorway and Lawrence Hargrave Drive and are expected to add about 10 minutes to journeys. Pedestrian access to Otford Lookout and walking tracks and beaches in the Royal National Park will not be affected by the closure.
