Lomax has surgery as Dragons name new centre pairing

St George Illawarra will roll out a new centre paring for Sunday's clash against the Bulldogs at Kogarah after Zac Lomax underwent surgery on his thumb.

Lomax is facing further follow up consultations after dislocating his thumb in last weekend's loss to the Tigers.

"A return-to-play timeline is yet to be established for Lomax," the club said.

Lomax thanked fans on Instagram for their messages.

"Everything went well! Be back soon!" the post said.

Lomax has been replaced in the Red V's starting side by Tyrell Fuimaono who'll partner Jack Bird while giant prop Poasa Faamausili has been recalled to the bench for his fifth appearance of the season.

Cody Ramsey's been named on the wing despite carrying a rib injury and will be monitored throughout the week.
