Today April 6 marks the 1st Anniversary of the arrival of the cruise ship Ruby Princess at Port Kembla Harbour.
The ship originally docked in Sydney, and led to an increase in the number of COVID19 cases being spread right across Australia, as passengers disembarked and headed home.
Dozens of crew members were suspected of having the COVID19 virus, the ship docked so authorities could determine the number of infected, and begin working with them. The ship's arrival also saw an outpouring of support from the Illawarra community, as it sat at the dock prior to departure from Australian waters.
