NSW recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. One new case was acquired overseas, bringing the total number of COVID-19 cases in NSW since the beginning of the pandemic to 4,950.
There were 12,336 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day’s total of 15,695. Today marks a record 30th consecutive day with no reported locally acquired cases in the state, and NSW Health would like to thank the community for their vigilance.
However, it is critical that everyone continues to practice COVID-safe behaviours by maintaining social distancing and good hygiene, wearing masks on public transport and coming forward for testing with even the mildest of symptoms. There are cases of COVID-19 in Victoria and in New Zealand, and cases are being regularly detected among international arrivals to NSW.
