Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from today on the Illawarra Highway at Tongarra for slope stabilisation work to be carried out.
Work will involve clearing vegetation and slope stabilisation following recent heavy rain fall, and be carried out about 125 meters east of the intersection of Tongarra Mine Road and the Illawarra Highway at Tongarra.
Work will be carried out from Thursday 28 January for about four weeks between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, weather permitting. A reduced speed limit of 40 km/h, and lane closures will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to allow 10 minutes additional travel time, drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
