Motorists are advised of upcoming speed limit reductions in Warrawong, Port Kembla, Blackbutt and Flinders from this week.
A Transport for NSW spokesperson says the existing 60 km/h speed zones will be reduced to 50 km/h to make each area safer for motorists, adding that, “The speed limit will be changed to 50 km/h on Flagstaff Road, from Cowper Street at Warrawong to Five Islands Road at Port Kembla, on Pioneer Drive at Blackbutt, from College Avenue to Brunderee Road and also on Brunderee Road at Flinders between Wattle and Willinga Roads, Transport for NSW completed a speed zone review in consultation with local council and NSW Police.”
Transport for NSW carried out the review in accordance with the NSW Speed Zoning Guidelines, which considered a number of factors including roadside development, traffic data and crash history.
New speed limit signs will be installed at each location from today, weather permitting.
