Southern Highlands - man captured after Police pursuit

A man will face Moss Vale Local Court, charged with multiple offences following a police pursuit in the Southern Highlands earlier today.

About 5.20 this morning, a man was at a service station on the Hume Highway at Marulan, and allegedly stole a number of items, before stealing a Ford Falcon and taking off - the man then allegedly failed to pay for petrol, at a second service station in Sutton Forest. Police caught up with the 37-year-old man when he crashed the car and took off on foot at Colo Vale.

He was arrested and taken to Southern Highlands Police Station, where he was charged with goods suspected stolen in custody of other, two counts of police pursuit, dishonestly obtain property by deception, shoplifting, exceed speed limit (over 45km/h) and take and drive conveyance without consent of owner.

He was refused bail to appear in Moss Vale Local Court, enquiries continue.
