Moderate To Major Flooding For The South Coast

An anxious 24 hours ahead for Shoalhaven residents as the amount of rain will determine whether flooding will be moderate or major. Rivers are already swollen and fast-flowing, as seen below at Kangaroo Valley.

In excess of 10 inches or 250mls has already fallen across the area, with the Bureau Of Meteorology forecasting anywhere between 70-120mls to fall again today, pushing the three day total towards 400mls of rain.

The Shoalhaven River at Nowra (AHD) is expected to exceed the moderate flood level (3.30 m) around 05:00 am Monday and may peak near the major flood level (4.30 m) around 05:00 pm Monday.
