A man has died in a Shoalhaven house fire that was deliberately lit.
Emergency workers were called to a Bomaderry home just after 10.30pm after reports of a break-in and fire.
Fire and Rescue NSW said firefighters were met with a confronting scene, with a man still inside the burning home.
Police say the 49-year-old was pulled unresponsive from the house and could not be revived.
A second male managed to escape uninjured.
The blaze destroyed the house and a nearby vehicle before firefighters extinguished it.
Police say the man's death is considered suspicious and the homicide squad is involved in the investigation.
