A man has been charged after a firearm was allegedly located at a home in the Southern Highlands on Thursday.
Acting on information, about 10am Thursday , officers from The Hume Police District and the Tactical Operations Unit executed a search warrant at a home in Willow Vale near Mittagong.
During a search of the property, police allegedly located and seized a shortened rifle concealed within a roof cavity and cannabis.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and taken to Southern Highlands Police Station, where he was charged with possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, possess unregistered prohibited firearm, not keep firearm safely, possess ammunition without holding a licence, possess firearm without appropriate licence.
He was refused bail and is due to face Wollongong Local Court on Friday.
