An 80-year-old woman has become the 50th coronavirus-related death in New South Wales.
State chief medical officer Dr Kerry Chant said the woman died in Concord Hospital and became infected after being exposed to the virus at an outpatient clinic.
Dr Chant said there's no evidence of further transmission or ongoing risk at Concord Hospital.
Three new COVID-19 cases have been recorded from 8,611 tests across the state in the last 24 hours.
Dr Chant said NSW Health is investigating the new cases.
"We are considering that they're locally acquired so there's no clear cut linkages between the cases.
"We are under taking further investigations," she said.
Dr Chat also confirmed that 400,000 tests have now been conducted in New South Wales since the pandemic began.
