Wollongong City Council Rangers will be out to discourage illegal camping and dangerous parking for the Australia Day long weekend.

Council says, while shade structures or tents are allowed during the day, they must be down by 8pm...drivers are asked to follow the road rules and the signage when it comes to parking their vehicles, they should not park on grass reserves, median strips or in other prohibited and unsafe locations.

Wollongong City Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery, says our reserves and parks are for everyone to enjoy with their families and friends, and there is no excuse for camping illegally, or for parking dangerously or inappropriately.
