Wollongong City Council will review the water quality at Belmore Basin again today after the beach was closed for a second straight day following a diesel spill in the Harbour.
The beach remains cordoned off because of hydrocarbons in the water that can cause skin irritation.
The warning signs haven't been enough for some, with a group of swimmers repeatedly jumping off a tower beside Yatchies Cafe yesterday afternoon.
Council is hopeful of reopening the water to swimmers today pending test results.
