A close call near Kiama blowhole

Two teenagers came close to drowning after being swept off rocks near the Kiama Blowhole.

Around lunchtime the two girls were washed into the sea and couldn't get back to shore.

After floundering for some time a jet ski rider spotted them and brought them back into Kiama Harbour.

Police say it was a close thing, because the pair had been in the sea for some time and swallowed alot of water.

Paramedics treated them at the scene for hypothermia and grazes.. one suffering a fractured cheek bone.
