Bird to look for new NRL club

Former Berkeley Junior Jack Bird might have played his last game for the Broncos.

He has been given permission to negotiate with Sydney clubs in hope of finding a new home in 2020.

Bird and his manager approached the Broncos with the request and will be released if he is offered a deal elsewhere.

The Bulldogs, Panthers and Tigers all reportedly have room under their salary cap.

It is unlikely the former Sharks premiership winner will return to Cronulla because of cap pressure at the club.

Bird has played just 17 games in two injury-ravaged seasons with Brisbane.
