State MP Paul Scully has put the heat on Wollongong City Council following the Wolves drought breaking NSW National Premier League Premiership.
The Member for Wollongong has written to Council's General Manager requesting a civic celebration for the team and some recognition on Burelli Street.
"We've got a community flagpole out the front of the council building and we should be proudly flying the Wolves colours between now and the NPL finals and playoffs series," Scully said.
Scully said the teams performance should be formally recognised by Wollongong City Council.
“It has been a long time between drinks for the Wollongong Wolves to hold up high the winner’s trophy for the premiership but the team pulled off the triumph.
“It was 31 years ago when the whole city came alive with pride and joy the last time the Wollongong Wolves held high the premiership trophy.
“We should all be celebrating the Wollongong Wolves’ victory and wishing the team every success in the playoffs to come,” he said.
