Bag key evidence in Kiama Downs armed robbery

Detectives have released images of a bag, believed to be connected to an armed robbery at a supermarket in Kiama Downs.

At around 6.15pm on Sunday 12 August 2018, a man armed with an axe entered a supermarket on Johnson Street, the armed man threatened a 14- ear old female employee before stealing cash and fleeing the store in a stolen white van, the van was later found abandoned nearby and was seized for forensic examination. About 10am on Sunday June 16 2019, a bag was located outside a hotel in Meroo Street, Bomaderry, before it was handed in to local police, a forensic examination of the bag linked it to the stolen vehicle used in the armed robbery.

As part of the investigation, Police have released an image of the bag, and are appealing for anyone who has information about it to come forward. Detectives are particularly interested in speaking to the person who left the bag in Bomaderry.
