Occupants of a three-story building in Wollongong's CBD had to be evacuated around 7.30 last night after a burst water main flooded the basement.
Water also flooded a building a few doors down form the corner of Kembla Street and Court Lane.
Fire and Rescue New South Wales sent three crews after receiving the callout at 6.49pm.
Two submersible pumps were used clear the water.
It took just under an hour for the water level to be contained before completing the task just after 11pm.
Sydney Water crews also attended to stop flow of water.
