The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a potentially very wet weekend ahead for the Illawarra, with Sunday expected to experience the highest falls.
The bureau says we can expect up to around 20mm for Saturday, 45mm for Sunday, with the falls dropping back to 10mm on Monday. Gavin Morris, weather expert with Nine News Illawarra says Sunday could see much higher falls, as a system which will form on the NSW Central Coast grows and moves South toward the Illawarra in Sunday. If anyone needs assistance during weather such as that predicted - call the SES on 132 500. Gutters and downpipes should be inspected and cleared as a precaution, and properties should be cleared of debris near where water could run.
