Appeal decision today for former Wollongong Bishop

A District Court judge in Newcastle will announce today whether an appeal by former Wollongong Bishop PHILLIP WILSON is successful.

The 68-year old is halfway through six-months home detention at his sister's house for concealing child sex abuse by paedophile priest Jim Fletcher in NSW in the 1970s.

Wilson could be a free man if the decision goes his way, however the New South Wales DPP is also appealing the leniency of the sentence.
