To make sure their voices are heard, anyone in the Illawarra who is not enrolled to vote, is being asked to do so before the same sex marriage postal vote.

Young people of voting age in the ILLAWARRA who aren't on the electoral roll have until the 24th of August to register with the Australian Electoral Commission.

Y-M-C-A's Kate Morrison says many young people don't know what they need to do, to take part in the postal vote:

" Alot of young people are probably unaware that they need to register, especially those who have never voted before. There isn't much awareness at the moment for young people to actually register and this is a big issue, because it's a big diss-empowerment of their voice."
