South Coast rail line declared a maintenance critical zone

A weekend rail maintenance blitz has been conducted on the line south of Sydney to Wollongong, as part of the state Government’s plan to deliver critical rail maintenance and overhaul reliability.

The South Coast rail line has seen some major works, with crews tackling the long stand issues on the line.

With more than six million people using the over 100-year-old South Coast, and 40-year-old T4 line each month, the line has been declared a “maintenance critical zone”.

One set of works at Engadine, saw a 250-metre section of the track ‘renewed’.
