Marine rescue has confirmed the man missing after being washed off rocks near the Kiama blowhole was not wearing a life jacket.
Marine Rescue NSW Illawarra Zone Duty Operations Manager Stuart Massey says rescue crews are conducting a parrallel line search from Bombo Headland to Black Rock in the south.

He says crews will gradually move further east until they’ve covered off a 40 square nautical mile area.
Mr Massey says it’s a reminder to fisherman to always wear a life jacket.
