It’s about to become a lot harder to find your favourite childhood sweet, if it’s Starburst.

Coles has announced that it will stop stocking the child favourite due to poor sales.

The supermarket chain is following is market competitor as Woolworths stopped stocking the line in 2015.

A spokesperson for Coles says the decision was not made lightly.

“We understand how frustrating it can be to see a favourite product disappear from the shelf and we assure that this decision is not one made lightly.”

“it’s our job to provide customers with the choice and value but with limited shelf space we have to balance providing choice with making sure the most popular products customers want to buy are available every time they shop” says the spokesperson for Coles.

A petition has already accumulated over 400 signatures to bring back the unexpectedly juicy sweets back to shelves around Australia.
