The NSW RFS has slapped a total fire ban on the Illawarra today, one of 11 declarations across the state.
The firies say the call comes after the latest forecasts from the Bureau of Meteorology, with the Illawarra facing an ‘extreme danger’ today, 26 November 2025.
Residents are warned to stay out of the heat, and take care of the vulnerable, our animals, and pets today.

The extreme fire danger is also likely to continue into Thursday for parts of the state.
