Two men have been arrested and charged over alleged break and enter offences at a mine site off Picton Road in Cataract.
The alleged incident happening at about 2.40pm on Monday.
“Officers located a utility, allegedly with two men inside with their faces covered,” police said.
“Police searched the vehicle and seized a large waste bin containing plumbing fixtures and pipe fittings, pressure valves, a toolbox containing 20 brass pipe fittings and a large orange winch – estimated to be worth about $1,000. Police will allege they were stolen.”
“Police seized number plates which they will allege were stolen and seized a number of tools.
“Both men, aged 41 and 45 were arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station.
“The 41-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter etc in company steal greater than or less than $60,000, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, use class B or C vehicle unauthorised number plate affixed and face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence
“The 45-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter in company steal greater than or less than $60,000 and face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence.”
“They were both refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 3 yesterday, where they were formally refused bail to reappear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 18 November 2025.”
